Support from Littlehampton regarding your prom cycle route....Hopefully those who have objections may soon see that this is a wonderful, and necessary, activity especially for children and families, which doesn't have to mean danger to other users...!

I admire all the hard work you put in to try to ensure people of all ages can cycle safely on our streets, as it is a wonderful way of keeping fit that anyone can take part in. The web site is great .

A useful website to set up and it contains some helpful and relevant information.

Nice website and i applaud your efforts to make cycling safer in Portsmouth. Could i add one idea to help cyclists? A lot leave their bikes locked up at Fratton Station. Space is very limited during the week now and many end up having to lock them to railings in Goldsmith Avenue. Could we not lobby SWT and the council to put more racks on platform one at the station. There is room for at least 20 more places. I did e-mail SWT but they said something about the local council being responsible.

I welcome any initiatives to get a safe cycle path along the seafront. Until it is available, I will continue to cycle with my young family along the Eastney end of the seafront. There is more than enough space. Furthermore, cars do not adhere to the speed limits. I will not put my family at risk.

If we're going to have cycle lanes, then let's make them safe, give cyclists priority, and generally encourage more people out of their cars. Right now it's a real hodge-podge - that bit around the Mountbatten centre, for example - dearie me. I nearly went in the mud it is so badly signed / lit.

Best wishes to cyclists in Portsmouth. In Illinois you can visit the Illinois and Michigan Canal (I & M) which has a long bicycle trail adjacent. Also try the Cal-Haven trail in Michigan. Toodles.
